I recently bought #SamsJourney from @knightsofbytes / @polyplay for the #NES. What a beautiful packaging! Look at all the feelies they included with the game!

They even replaced the traditional ungainly styrofoam stopper at the bottom of most NES boxes with a treasure chest, and hidden inside was a sack of gems!

that's gorgeous. Also love the fact that it's a game for the NES. :) love the concept
in reply to gozes

@gozes It's also a beautiful NES game, probably one of the best ever made.

I daresay it competes very well with SMB3.

A) why a Minecraft rap? I get maybe Minecraft music, but why specifically a rap?

B) why a rap about a resource pack (a modification to Minecraft that makes things look differently)? Why not just... a showcase video of how things look?

C) WHY MAKE STICKERS ADVERTISING THE RAP,,, like you're not even advertising the resource pack? Why not post it online, to forums, etc.? Where people who play Minecraft are? They're not well known for going outside...

This is just the most confusing thing. I counted and was blessed with 14 (!!!) stickers just here in Groningen alone. The comments are full of people saying they saw it in other cities. What's going on?

in reply to Erik Uden ⁂🥥🌴🍑

For anyone who wants to listen to the Minecraft rap about a resource pack they made a sticker for, it's actually pretty fire 🔥:

You have goals beyond my comprehension, Mickey Joe.

in reply to Erik Uden ⁂🥥🌴🍑

You've just advertised their resource pack rap - probably with hundreds of other people who posted it as a "strange thing" on their social media. So I think whichever marketing company came up with it achieved their goal.
in reply to Erik Uden ⁂🥥🌴🍑

Whatever is going on, it clearly worked. Also the rap is actually kinda funny.
in reply to Erik Uden ⁂🥥🌴🍑

And why is the URL not spelled out in letters but ONLY shown as a QR code? This way people would first have to figure out how to decode the QR code.
in reply to Erik Uden ⁂🥥🌴🍑

Never has a QR code screamed so loudly "Virus or rickroll? Scan me to learn which!"

i regret to inform you that italy has formally indicted me for using the leaning tower of pisa as a fleshlight (i broke it sorry)

update, looks like it worked!

I'll have to make some changes to make OOBE just a *bit* cleaner, but this is 99% of the way there on a fresh install

Actually, what computer architecture would the Cybermen even have? I like to imagine that the parallel-Earth Cybermen just have a regular-ass PC motherboard somewhere inside them (they were manufactured on present-day Earth, after all), and they've simply never bothered to change that part of their design because too much of their codebase relies on quirks of the x86 processor and the IBM PC architecture. Maybe they're still trying to track down and upgrade the One Guy™ who wrote all the crazy ASM hacks for Cybus, then fucked off to Argentina to become a farmer.

By contrast, given the "bodged-together" nature of the Mondasian Cybermen (they were created on a colony ship experiencing time dilation as a frantic attempt to prolong the crew's lives), they likely started off with all sorts of varying CPU architectures - simply whatever components they had access to. Maybe they run some sort of Mondasian Java... now there's a horrifying thought for you!

do you think the cybermen still have to enable the memory above 1MB via the keyboard controller

May have just spent the last few hours implementing dynamically scoped variables in Python :neodog_dizzy:
Basically, dynamic variables are scoped to the stack frame where they were bound, rather than having the same value globally or being lexically scoped to a region of the source code. When a function binds a value to a dynamic variable, everything it calls inherits that new value, but code running outside of that function's stack frame sees the old binding. This is also the case with multiple threads: newly spawned threads inherit the bindings of their parent, and do not affect the value of the variable in other threads.

>fuck, marry, kill: ben bigger, von lyacon, billy kid

Hm, that's a tough decision, they're all quite hot. But I'll have to go with: fuck billy kid, marry von lycaon, and unfortunately, by process of elimination, kill ben bigger.

...Can I just fuck them all instead?

>Why does it say I'm using a harmful browser?

https://keithhacks.cyou/mail.php?id=586

Ah, that message appears when you're using a Chrome-based browser (or your browser is sending a Chrome user agent string). I set it up back when Google was pushing "Web Environment Integrity". They've since abandoned that project, but they still use the Chrome engine's massive market share to bully browser developers and the W3C into adopting only the Web standards Google wants, regardless of the consensus among everyone...

Aww, thanks! I appreciate the compliment. Also, I had no idea there was a search engine dedicated to personal Web sites—or that I was popular enough to get indexed by it. I'm definitely going to check it out.

I discovered yesterday that, apparently, I have been running my desktop computer for months with the Wi-Fi antenna unplugged. Like, nothing was attached to the coaxial connectors. Yet somehow, I was still able to maintain a stable Wi-Fi connection all this time—and I only noticed when I went to check the model number of my network card.

I think I believe in magic now.

just installed hall effect joysticks in all my joy-cons >:3
fun fact: you can get a pack of 4 hall effect joysticks for the same price as one (1) new joy-con. and it's not that hard to take the joy-cons apart as long as you're careful and patient.
