I recently bought #SamsJourney from @knightsofbytes / @polyplay for the #NES. What a beautiful packaging! Look at all the feelies they included with the game!
They even replaced the traditional ungainly styrofoam stopper at the bottom of most NES boxes with a treasure chest, and hidden inside was a sack of gems!

You get three kinds of thrills:
1) the excitement of expectation, waiting for the game to be delivered by mail
2) the excitement of seeing the physical packaging, with whatever decoration/artwork/toys/feelies the authors decided to use
3) the excitement of playing the game
And it's all done by modern enthusiasts who are just doing this kind of modern artwork for the love it.
